Junior Kip Bar
About the Jr. Kip Bar
Featuring a 3.8cm diameter solid maple bar, the new and improved design of the Jr. Kip Bar offers much more stability for higher level skills and older gymnasts.
By adding the Jr. Kip Bar Extensions, skills like upstarts/kips and back hip circles can easily be performed on the Jr. Kip Bar. The base can be further stabilised with a 1.2m x 2.4m piece of plywood for more advanced skills.
The following general guidelines will help you choose the best base:
Standard Base- for athletes weighing between 22-32kgs (3.5-5 stone) for BASIC skills
Standard Base with Extensions- for athletes weighing between 22-32kgs (3.5-5 stone) for ADVANCED skills.
Standard Base with Extension & plywood (purchased from a local DIY store)- for athletes weighing up to 56kgs (9 stone).
The 1.2m space between the base permits a standard 1.2m wide mat to be used underneath. We recommend the 1.2m x 2.4m Tumbling Mat with a Jr. Practice Mat on top.
SPECIFICATIONS: 1.2m x 1.4m bar adjusts from 97cm high to 1.42m high.
PARENT TIP: This bar will grow with your child. The standard bar is great for that 4 year old who is hanging on it and playing all the time. Use the extensions and it works wonders for the 10 year old who is learning casting, kipping, and basic circling skills.
