The Al Fong Spotting Block System is a group of lightweight, compatible, versatile blocks that are useful in all levels of gymnastics training. For years, USA Coach Al Fong has produced Olympic-level athletes using techniques and equipment developed over a long and illustrious career. These blocks have been a staple in his gymnastics program and are soon to be indispensable in yours!
Al first developed the blocks to create a “channel bar” station - above the ground. Gymnasts can safely do skill progressions early on for handstands, giants and release moves. Coaches love to use them as Spotting Blocks for bar skills. Tumbl Trak uses a special firm foam on the bottom to create a more stable environment which coaches REALLY appreciate for safety reasons.
And, bars is just the beginning! Each block has a 10cm white line on the top for training beam skills, including mounts and dismounts. The rigid sides make for the ideal conditioning, plyometric or flexibility stations. Turn them on their edges or on end to create dynamic obstacle courses for a great cardio workout!
Each block is made of a firm yet lightweight foam that is covered in easy to clean vinyl. They are very lightweight with carrying handles for ease in moving from station to station. Each block has strategically placed velcro allowing them to be securely stacked on top of each other, side by side, or end to end. There are endless configurations and uses for the Al Fong Blocks!
The Blocks are made of 2 different types of foam. The top has 10cm of EVA Crosslink Foam with a Solid Polystyrene Core. There is no EVA Crosslink Foam on the bottom which leads to increased stability.
Light Blue Ended Block: 2.4m L x 90cm W x 90cm H (Large)
Lime Green Ended Block: 2.4m L x 90cm W x 30cm H (Medium)
Purple Ended Block: 1.2m L x 90cm W x 30cm H (Small)
